Cinnamon Roll – Soft Homemade Recipe
Ingredients
For the dough
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 ¼ tsp yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 egg
For the filling
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground Cinnamon
- 3 tbsp softened butter
Optional glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Make the dough
In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. Add sugar, egg, melted butter, salt, and flour. Mix and knead until smooth. - Let it rise
Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size. - Roll the dough
Roll the dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. - Add the filling
Spread butter over the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture evenly. - Roll and cut
Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 1–1.5 inch slices. - Second rise
Place the rolls in a baking dish and let them rise for 20–30 minutes. - Bake
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden. - Add glaze
Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, then drizzle over the warm rolls.
